How do you see Foreclosures and Distressed Real Estate Presented?

A few months ago, we as agents at RE/MAX of Valencia, were asked about the current banner that hangs proudly under the American Flag at RE/MAX headquarters at 25101 The Old Road, Santa Clarita California. The Current Banner on the Side of the REMAX Building says “#1 REMAX Office”.

Simple, and a true statement. I suppose that is one of the reasons that Paris and I chose this particular Real Estate Brokerage in which to work. John and Alice O’Hare are great people and keep us on the cutting edge with regard to the Best Protection of our Clients Real Estate Needs.

I am very active in and around the Santa Clarita Valley and elsewhere in Southern California, Paris and our team are not Geographically dependent and even have REO listings in San Jose. I am stacking up the Frequent Flyer Mileage that is for sure

Back to the Santa Clarita Valley and it’s foreclosure market. Behind each and every Foreclosure property, investment LLC, pre-foreclosure(short-sale), and other types of Bank Owned homes, is a certain amount of “human Pain!”

The Pain that someone has experienced before the Foreclosure process was finished, should not be ignored. So, I don’t ignore it. There are great opportunities to purchase Real Estate during a Foreclosure Market. But embedded in my code is always having the respect for any pain that might have been experienced in each Foreclosure process.

This is where I am going with this. RE/MAX asked if we should put Foreclosure Banner’s on the exterior of our building and the Agents Voted. We Voted “NO”, no Short Sale, REO, Foreclosure, Bank Owned Banners – nothing but keeping our position in the world of Real Estate and within Santa Clarita Known very well to all that drive by on the 5 freeway.

The Most important reason that we voted “NO” is the mind set each of us share – We know this is a foreclosure market, we know that short sales are the prevalent listings in the MLS, we know that bank owned are out there at a massive decline over the height of the market.

The Public Knows that we have access to Foreclosures, Short Sales, Bank Owned, and every single listing that is on the market for sale.

But we are above em-blazing it on the side of our Building and have a True Respect for the pain that has been and will be experienced by those that have gone through the process. It does not matter who’s fault it was – it HURTS JUST THE SAME!!!
